Stylin’ with Statues

This guy is carrying the opposite of a mini handbag! Hobo pants and carpetbag evoke an early quirky era. But is that a Patek Phillipe watch? Quirk-o-rama! Photo by Rosanna Magarelli.

On location in Geneva with my gal pal Rosanna, we are staying at Hotel N’vy, which is stuffed with quirky artwork from European and American artists.

Goofing around, Rosy snapped me with this Bruno Catalano statue, J’attends, one of a pair of two guarding the entrance to the lounge. For once, I am not the quirkiest in the room. This guy’s fashion sense could best be described as Early Hobo!

Style Notes

You might notice my hair has changed color again. I thought a conservative deep purple and turquoise would suit the Swiss! But of course my beat-up (read: subtly aged) yellow leather jacket matches the statue quite nicely. Always remember to accessorize with artwork!

We happened to be here during the two-week celebration period of the Swiss National Holiday, and caught the colorful fireworks display on our first night in Geneva. Too bad we missed the chance to check out the Patek Phillipe Museum to see the ultimate in stylin’ Swiss precision.
